Where the Odds Are Woolly

Three hundred slots, twelve tables, one very judgmental llama statue in the lobby. Welcome to the friendliest house on Historic Main Street in Deadwood, South Dakota. The house still always wins, we're just nicer about it.

About the Lucky Llama

The Lucky Llama opened in 1989, the year gaming came back to Deadwood, when our founder won a llama in a poker game and decided it was a sign. He was holding aces and eights at the time, which around here is usually a bad omen, so we like to think the llama broke the curse. Today we are the only llama themed gaming hall in the Black Hills, with 90 rooms, two restaurants, a saloon, and a gift shop that sells more stuffed llamas than anyone thought possible.

The Floor

Slots, blackjack, craps, roulette, and a poker room that never closes. Our pit crew has seen every trick in the book, so please do not try the ones from the movies.

The Rooms

Ninety rooms and six suites above Main Street. Every one comes with a view of the gulch, a claw foot tub, and a complimentary stuffed llama that you will be charged for if it leaves with you.

Safe and Sound

Over 400 cameras and a surveillance team that never blinks. Nobody sits with their back to the door in this town anymore. Smile, somebody upstairs is definitely watching.

Eat, Drink, Repeat

Dinner nightly, 5 to 10

The Wagon Wheel Steakhouse

Bison ribeye, Black Hills trout, and a prime rib that has ended more than one winning streak by putting the winner to sleep. Reservations recommended on weekends.

Open 24 hours

Mama Llama's Cafe

Breakfast all day, pie all night. The Dead Man's Hand skillet is two eggs, two sausages, and a side of hash browns you did not see coming.

Forty whiskeys, live ragtime Thursday through Sunday, and a strict policy against shooting the piano player. He is doing his best.
